Serving Christ

We are glad to be serving the Lord in Cleveland, OK. We had an exciting month in February. The last Sunday of the month we celebrated the church's 39th anniversary and saw 136 in attendance that day. What a blessing!! That was more than double what we had last year. I'm already looking forward to our 40th anniversary because that Sunday we will have Bro. Bill Counts with us. He was the first pastor of Grace Baptist Church. Our anniversary Sunday was an exciting day as well in that we saw a lady accept Christ as Saviour during the morning service.

March is a slower month for us here. We do not have big activities planned in the church but we are continuing our service for the King. Our Wednesday night Patch Club continues to be an exciting time with all the kids. I love seeing all the children come in on the vans to learn more about Christ.

On a personal note, everyone in our house is adjusting to the new addition to the family. Baby Shelby is doing well and growing. Praise the Lord she sleeps well at night!

We are looking forward to a great day in God's House this Sunday and look forward to what God is going to do with and through GBC.

Sorry for the delay

I apologize for not giving an update on the church lately. We are excited to announce the arrival of our daughter, Shelby Taylor, on Feb 11th. Momma and baby are both doing well.

This year on Feb 26th, we will be celebrating our 39th anniversary as a church. We would like to invite anyone and everyone to come and spend the day with us. We will begin with Sunday School at 10am followed by an exciting worship service at 11am. There will be special music during the 11am service by Witness, a singing group from Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City. Pastor Ron Lindsey from Suburban Baptist Church in Moore, OK will be bringing our message. After the morning service, we’d like to invite everyone to stick around and eat lunch with us. After lunch we will have an afternoon service in place of our usual evening service. It will be a day full of great music, wonderful food and powerful preaching. We would love to see you join us February 26th as Grace Baptist celebrates 39 years of being a light for Christ in Cleveland, OK.

I'd like to say on a personal note that I count it a privilege to be the pastor of the church. It's amazing to me to think that this June will mark 2 years for my family and I here in Cleveland. It has been a blessing and we look forward to many more years here.

Does anyone read our blog?

As I was typing the last entry, I began wondering "Does anyone read our blog?" If you do, we at Grace would like to know. To let us know, you can simply reply to this post. God bless amd have an awesome day.

Christmas services

It's been a while since I gave a report but the church is doing well. We've seen attendances reach the 70's on a few occasions these past few weeks. God has been good to us. For anyone who may be wondering, we will be having all our services Christmas day. Sunday school is at 10am followed by a message at 11am titled "What did you get for Christmas?" The evening service starts at 6pm with Bro Bryan Ogle preaching. He is an associate pastor and principal of a Christian school in Lansing, MI. If you are in Cleveland that day, we'd love to have you for services.

Winter is Approaching

We are just now getting into the month of November and it feels as if winter will soon be upon us. No more of these 100 degree days which personally doesn't bother me at all. :-) This past week we had our Thanksgiving dinner after our morning services and it was good to see God bless us with 73 people in attendance that morning. We are continuing to see steady growth in the church and we would love to have everyone in our area to be a part of it.

The month of November is a quiet month for us outside the birthdays. We have many people celebrating their birthdays this month.

The van routes continue to grow as we see more and more kids coming to church. We now easily pick up 30 kids for Patch Club on Wednesday nights. Our Wednesday night attendances some times rival what we are seeing on Sunday mornings.

Well, all I can say is God is continuing to bless us as we see more people in the church and more people drawing closer to the Lord in there daily walk.
